Saint Bridget Service Team
Saint Bridget School, in conjunction with Saint Bridget Church is pleased to announce the formation of the middle school Saint Bridget Service Team. Community service opportunities exists all around us. The purpose of the Saint Bridget Service Team is to fulfill a goal of offering our students an opportunity to serve our community.
The Saint Bridget Service Team will focus on In Reach Projects (those that are on the grounds of our school and church) as well as Out Reach Projects (those that are off campus). Projects will vary based on the needs of our community.
Community Service – Goals & Philosophy – to live out our call to be stewards of God’s creation by assisting the community of Saint Bridget School and other groups in the Richmond area.
We hope to instill a sense of responsibility as well as nurture a desire to seek service for others. Classrooms coordinate service projects for our school community to raise awareness for those in need, such as: toiletry items for the homeless, SPCA pet food drive, books for Haiti
Eighth grade students meet once a week to provide community service within our school by maintaining the recycling program within the school, caring for plants in the building, assisting teachers and staff with such activities as prepping materials for large mailings, organizing classroom materials, maintaining bulletin boards, and assisting with school fundraising programs. They offer help wherever it is needed. Outside activities this year have included cutting Christmas tree ornaments for a Giving Tree that benefited Haitian orphans.
